Pastures and grazing systems have been low priority systems for farmers in the wheatbelt. Through increased understanding of pasture management systems this project will demonstrate the benefits pasture management and how it can improve productivity in livestock and cropping systems.

Components of this project will focus on growing feed grains and using grain crops for feed, comparison of annual systems to temperate grasses in lower rainfall zone of the catchment and demonstration of techniques to increase pasture quantity and quality and improve sheep productivity.

This project will concentrate on the integration of farm management and economic issues to ensure these management systems fulfil their full potential.
