Farming Systems - Improved Management of the Components of Mixed Farming Enterprises

This project aims to improve the economic and environmental performance of grain and mixed farming systems in South West Queensland at a field, farm and landscape scale. It will do this by working with producers to improve management practices and options and to develop the necessary skills that will assist them better manage change required for their specific situation.

The project will involve integrating existing information and conducting on-farm research to address relevant issues.

Engaging stakeholders via action learning and to develop skills to better manage change is the primary focus of this project.

Evaluation is integrated within project activities and as a result functions as an on-going process.

This project is supported by the Queensland Department of Primary Industries & Fisheries, Queensland Murray Darling Committee Inc, Queensland Natural Resources, Mines and Water, CSIRO Sustainable Ecosystems, University of Queensland, Landmark, B&W Rural supplies and local farmers.
