Talking BiGG - CD

Stories from the Biodiversity in Grain & Graze (BiGG) Farmer Forum, January 2008, Hobart, Tasmania" is an audio CD developed from a series of interviews conducted at the BiGG Farmer Forum in Hobart, January 2008.

The CD includes 13 individual tracks about BiGG and managing biodiversity on-farm, based on interviews with farmers who participated in the BiGG project and BiGG Farmer Forum, the national Grain & Graze team, BiGG project leader and researchers.

Thinking BiGG - Booklet

Mixed farming families tell their stories of biodiversity" is a booklet that brings together 17 stories from farmers who have been collaborating in BiGG. They come from eight of the nine Grain & Graze regions in which BiGG is operating.

These stories provide insights into the reasons why farmers are participating in the project, the changes they have made or are considering making as a result of it and their learning over the past two years.

Both farmers and researchers are in a process of learning. These case studies are a step towards better understanding the full potential that can come from supporting greater biodiversity in farming systems, and how this might contribute to even greater productivity benefits.

"Talking BiGG" will be distributed in conjunction with the "Thinking BiGG" case study booklet or is available as a stand-alone product. Grain & Graze regional coordinators will receive copies of the products to distribute locally over the coming weeks. If you are not in a region and would like a copy please email Gill Stewart - National Extension Coordinator for the Grain & Graze program gillian.stewart@lwa.gov.au
