Supporting the launch earlier this year of Making More from Sheep, a webcast panel discussion featuring sheep producers from across the country has now been released. A first of its kind, the webcast has been released with the support of Elders, and provides a powerful insight into what this new program means for sheep producers.
"As a company we have been using webcast technology to provide information to our investors but this is the first time we have focused on sheep producers and what a program such as Making More From Sheep means to them on farm," said Gary Tapscott, Manager, Livestock Network Services, Elders.
"The webcast provides an opportunity to introduce sheep producers across the country to this new, groundbreaking program, and gives them a chance to see how the program could help them increase the productivity, profitability and sustainability of their business."
The webcast is a facilitated panel discussion with eight sheep producers from across Australia. The sheep producers featured include:
- Greg and Jane Kellock, Farrell Flat, Mid North South Australia
- Don Perkins, Dirranbandi, South West Queensland
- Matt Dunbabin, Bangor, South East Tasmania
- Ben Ryan, Delamere, Fleurieu Peninsula South Australia
- Alison Tancred, Gulargambone, Central West New South Wales
- Andrew Dufty, Melville Forest, South West Victoria
- Geoff Sandilands, Kendenup, South Coast Western Australia
Making More From Sheep has been developed by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) with the input of nearly 250 leading sheep producers and technical experts. Both Landmark and Elders were involved in the development of the program.
"We've had great support from agribusiness throughout the development of Making More from Sheep, and during the roll out of the program, working with companies like Elders will make it easier for sheep producers to access to the latest research and development information for their sheep business," said Making More from Sheep National Coordinator Mike Wagg
The webcast can be viewed at www.elders.com.au and can also be accessed through MLA's website www.mla.com.au. Information on the program is also featured on AWI's website www.wool.com.au
