In Grain & Graze, farmers are learning from each other, testing new practices and reducing risk.

For information about Grain & Graze activities relevant to your area and production systems, please contact your nearest regional or national coordinator.

Welcome

The Grain & Graze program aims to boost farm profitability across the mixed farming zone of southern Australia, while helping to protect the environment.

Our research focuses on cropping, pastures, livestock, profitability, feedbase management, whole-farm economics, biodiversity, social issues, soil and water.

One of the strengths of the program is the direct involvement of farmers and farming groups in local trials and extension activities.

Grain & Graze is a collaboration between the four leading Research and Development Corporations - Land & Water Australia, Grains Research and Development Corporation, Meat & Livestock Australia, and Australian Wool Innovation Limited - and over 60 farmer and landcare groups, research providers and regional management authorities.

The four year project involves nine pilot regions across Australia - please click on the region in the map for local information...
